Bench under tree

Mionetta smiled, watching him as he pulled the knife out of the tree.
"I think I should like more to hear of your time around the world," she smiled, sweeping her hair back behind her shoulders.

She tilted her head, "You say you recognized my accent...what other places have you been to, what adventures have you found?" she smiled. She began to play with her fingers, "I see you have an earring, and your dress and demeanor makes me think of a man whom has seen much of the world."

I smiled at her. Well I did spend much time in Italy especially Venice. I have also spent time in the Netherlands, in Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland, and even Spain, Portugal.. almost everywhere. Is there anyplace in particular you wish to hear about?

Mionetta smiled, leaning forward. "Oh, tell me about Austria, please, signore," she beamed. "I hear there they have women with blonde hair and blue eyes...I have never seen such women," she laughed, playing with her own dark curls.

-Arrives to the English court. She needs a change. She misses her husband and the same tiene she feels alone in a foreign country as Portugal. She likes visiting England and for that reason, she is now walking around gardens-

I sat us down on the bench again, my dagger stuffed safely in my leather boot. Austria, yes a beautiful place indeed. All the women are fair of hair, with strands of every shade of blonde: honey, wheat, sunshine.. and eyes like the blue of the sky, and sometimes even the pale green of a tender leaf. They are like true angels from above, but my preference has always been for dark-haired women. I smiled at Mionetta.

Mionetta gave a laugh, blushing slightly as she brushed her hair back behind her shoulders. "Then you must have some beautiful dark haired woman in your life," she smiled, tilting her head, "or perhaps you have met some in all your travels."

She looked up at the dark sky, finding comfort in knowing that the same stars she saw there, could be seen home. "I have seen many men in my short travels," she gave a slight sigh, "never knowing them, mind you, but..." she shook her head, still gazing at the stars above, "of all their faces I care most for whether their hearts are kind and whether they care for me," she looked down at her hands, again.

*walks alone to the Great Hall*

-This day I am under a tree, Reading a Chaucer book-

"Charles was walking around garden. His mind was full of thoughts. Nan, Catherine, Anna and his children. Suddenly he noticed a young lady sitting alone under a tree. She was reading, so he approached her silently"

My lady...

"He bowed and smiled kindly"

"Your Grace" - smiles a bit and closes her book-

"Charles smiled and looked at her book"

Uhm...Geoffrey Chaucer. I always loved "Canterbury's Tales". Oh...forgive me, my lady. I didn't mean to disturb you. Surely you already heard about me. I'm Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk...

"He added, noticing that she called him using his title"

" yes, true is that I have Heard about you but I didn't meet you until today.

- puts her hands together - " and yes that book of chaucers is one of my favourites, and don't worry you don't disturb me" -smiles kindly-

"Charles smiled her back and nodded"

I was just having a walk when I saw you here alone. Are you new to court, my lady? I think I've never seen you, before...

"He asked, still keeping his eyes on her"

"Yes, Your Grace I am new to court . I have just arrived from here from Spain. "  I smile at him as he gazes into my eyes.

"Charles nodded and smiled her back"

Do you mind if I sit next to you, my lady?

"He asked with warm and kind voice"

butterflies enter my stomach and I blush a bit

"Of course , Your Grace"

I smile to him trying to keep my composure as he sits next to me.

"Charles sat next to her, but not too much close. He noticed her agitation and smiled amused"

So...Spain, you said? My wife is spanish, so I know country and language rather well. And...what brings you to England, Your Highness?

"He asked, looking around landscape and hoping not to make her feel uncomfortable"

He says his wife and I sigh a bit knowing that of course a handsom man as himself is married.

I say to him "I am here at court visiting my uncle and aunt. "

I smile and also say " Your wife is spanish? Who is she? I may know her family" .

He loses contact with me and I feel a bit ashamed for my feeling for him but I cannot help myself he is a very attractive Courtier.

"Charles turned his eyes towards her again. He stared at her red hairs and green eyes for a moment, before answering"

My wife is lady Catherine Willoughby. She was my pupil...and her mother, Maria de Salinas, asked me to take care of her. She was maid of honour to Queen Catherine of Aragon in Spain, when she was still Princess Catalina...

"He explained and smiled again"

He looks at me and my heart starts to race and I look down for a moment to avoid eye contact. I finally  look up and gaze in to his bewitching blue eyes.

I smile at him, trying not to become lost in his eyes and say, "I know who Maria de Salina is! She was childhood friends with both my aunt Catherine of Aragon and my Mother Joan of Castile. I have heard many stories of her charm. "

I look up and am greeted by his warm and charming smile.

"Charles smiled her back. He noticed she was very sweet"

Oh...so you know my mother in law. I guess you're aware about your aunt's situation. And sincerely...I'm very sorry for her. But as King's best friend, I have to support all his choices...

"He said with sincere voice"

She smiles and then slowly adorns a curisious look upon her face.

"My Aunt's situation? I am afraid I am not sure of what you are speaking of? "

I feel my sotmach sink not knowing what is wrong with my favorite aunt .

"Charles looked surprised at her and bit his lips"

Oh...so you still know nothing about that. Ehm...well, shortly...the King is trying to divorce from her. He broke with Rome and declared himself Supreme Head of Church. And...I think that very soon your aunt will be replaced by his favourite mistress, Anne Boleyn. I'm sorry...

"He repeated, hoping to have choosed carefully his words in order not to upset her"

I look at him in absolute shock "Oh my poor aunt, does my Brother the King of Spain know? "

I sit there in absolute disbelief not knowing words to say.

"Charles nodded"

Yes...of course the Emperor knows. He seems to support your aunt in this matter. But at the same time, he broke his engagement with Princess Mary and he is going to be engaged to Isabella of Portugal...
