Meadow Stream

I shrugged, also regarding the stars. "There is really not much to say. I come from a big family, most of whom are at court right now. I'm a member of the Privy Council, and I'm also engaged.. to a woman whom I cannot understand." I shook my head, knowing that the wine had made me confide in her. "What of you, my lady?" I said as I looked at her.

"That woman doesn't know how lucky she is,then."

She smiled and continued.

"I came to the court from Genoa one year ago. I fell in love with a man and i carried his son. Then i gave birth but he denied me and his son so i returned Genoa. There was a epidemic disease and my son was caught. I couldn't save him , he died. "

She stopped for a minute. Her eyes were full of tears. She realized that she missed his first son.

"Then i came back to the court again to take my revenge. I was frustrated. Then i met with my husband,i became pregnant again, i gave birth , we were happy at least we seemed to be, then he dissappeared , then he came back again, then he disappeared again, i had a purperal fever, i was sick he wasnt here. I lost my faith in him."

She was out of breath. Then she smiled to Edward.


"Story of my life, my lord."

With a child on tow I pad through the meadow. The sodden grass adding a layer of moisture to my velvet slippers I spring lightly to the side and the small boy giggles. How how my heart swells as he smiles.
I glance up,"Sister!"I call.

She turned her head slowly where the voice came. She smiled widely as she saw Elizabeth. She didn't expect her to see here and at this time of the night. She stoop up as Elizabeth was approaching.

"Lizzie! It's been a long time."

"Alfonsina,"I cry with a smile as I gather the child into my arms, holding him on my waist.

"It has been so long!"

I stood also as the lady approached us. I noticed the great closeness and camaraderie between them. "My lady," I said as I bowed in recognition of her.

"Forgive me, sire,"I chime and sweep a curtsey as a smile.

"I am Elizabeth Crav-well Bosworth now,"I brush the child's cluster of dark curls on his head and say,"This is my son..."

Alfonsina was listening their conversation silently. After Elizabeth introduced her son she smiled and knelt in front of little boy.

"Hello , my lord.. It's so nice to meet you."

She smiled again. Elizabeth's son was so cute.

"If you allow me , Can i kiss you?"

The little boy, barely over one year old nodded his head. His curls bouncing and his red lips pursing in the centre of his monumental alabaster skin.

"You have never met him before have you sister?"

After the boy nodded his head , Alfonsina kissed his cheeks softly.Then she turned to Elizabeth.

"No , I've never met him. He is really a miracle."

She smiled.

I raise my brows and touch his soft cheek as he leans his head on my shoulder,"That he is...in fact, sister, I must discuss something with you...when you are not in company..."

I wonder where Edward is...

"It is certainly a pleasure to meet you, Lady Bosworth, and your son as well." I smiled at the little boy, though I was not used to children. I waited patiently as the two women spoke, obviously reuniting after an extended absence.

"Why thank you sir...?"I reply kindly and admire what a kind man this is.

"If there is something you ladies need to discuss, I shall give you some privacy." I looked to them both. "Lady Garcia was telling me a bit about herself. We've only just met."

I touch his shoulder gently,"No, no,"I say with a smile,"It has been a great pleasure meeting you but it is I who interrupted."

I glance to Alfonsina and whisper,"I hope we shall speak soon,"I then turn to the handsome man,"I should hope we may meet again..."

I bowed slightly, and smiled at Elizabeth. "I do hope so as well my lady," I said, thinking the very sound of her voice was sweet and melodic. I then realized I hadn't introduced myself. "How rude of me, I am sorry for not giving my name. I am Edward Seymour," I said, hoping this slight slip in manners wouldn't remain in her memory.

I grin,"Another Edward..."

"Well then Edward,"I say and take his hand as I sweep a curtsey,"I am glad to have met you,"I smile through my lashes.
"Good day sir..."

"Of course sister.. "

She replied her request to talk about something. Alfonsina was wondering. Then she listened to their conversation silently. She turned Elizabeth.

"I'll visit you tomorrow sister. I hope you will be available."

She smiled and waved her hand to a little boy. Then she turned to Edward again.

"I am sorry Edward. She is my sister-in-law. I haven't seen her for a long time like my husband."

I smiled at Elizabeth, then turned my attention back to Alfonsina. "No need to apologize my lady, family is an important thing. So, you are married to Lady Bosworth's brother." I easily recalled the life story Alfonsina had told me earlier. "I am sorry you do not see much of your husband. But from a man's point of view, may I say that a life in court politics and especially foreign affairs, can cause someone to be far from their family much of the time. But make no mistake, your husband is lonely." I felt a little braver then. "But if I were he, I'd race home to you every chance I got, faster than a god with wings."

She giggled after his compliment because of effects of wine.

"Do you know my lord? You are very polite and handsome. Sometimes it's hard to find these two both in a men. I think I am very lucky to meet you."

She smiled by looking at his eyes.

"I'm not a nice person," I said, my thoughts a little blurry from the wine. "I am the lucky one for meeting you." The attraction I'd felt for her was becoming more intense and so i kissed her because my words were not enough.

Before she could answer , Edward kissed Alfonsina. Alfonsina realized that she forgot what a warm kiss was. She didn't step back and she kissed him too. His lips were warm and charming. As they were kissing , Alfonsina was feeling different. It was the first time she cheated anyone in her life. She knew that she would regret later. But she decided to enjoy the moment. Alfonsina knew that kissing him there was really dangerous. She wanted him to somewhere different, somewhere hidden. But she didn't want to seem like a slut.

It was almost the hardest thing to do to break the kiss, it had seemed that she brought out feelings in me I thought had died. "I'm no poet my lady, suffice it to say I want you, I desire you." I held her close so our foreheads were touching. I had little idea of what I was saying, but the feeling going along with it felt right.

She smiled charmingly after his words.

"It isn't necessary to be a poet to desire anyone. Truth to be told , I desire you , too my lord. Kissing you is different.. It brings warmness."

She felt that her heart was beating fast. She was sure it was because the feelings she was feeling for him and the feeling of guilty.

I noticed a look cross her face, she seemed not to be completely at ease. "Did I say something wrong?" I asked flatly. "Perhaps I got caught up in the moment, perhaps it was the wine.." I trailed off as I stood there looking at her.
