Edward nodded thoughtfully and sat up. He planted a kiss on forehead,"Be careful-do not do anything foolish. I'll be in touch Lilibet."
He then climbed up and returned to the palace.

Thomas, wrapped up warmly in a elegant deep red velvet outfit, join the meadow lighten up by the white moonlight a before midnight, a big wicker basket hanging on to his elbow.
He look around, seeing that everything is desert, silent and seem asleep, he spot a big tree in the center of the meadow, he join it, put the basket on the grass carefully, lean his back to the trunk and look around for the lady of his thoughts, nearly fearing she wouldn't come.

Running late as I pick up the food and blanket from the kitchens wearing a black cloak with the hood pulled up over my head I make my way down to the meadow stream, hoping I have not missed him walking quickly down to the steam with the moon high and the stars shining I can not picked a more prefect place to meet him. As I get there I notice a man standing by a tree I quickly go around and jump out on him

Thomas get dreamy as he look at the beautiful landscape around, imagine the poems he could write about it, suddenly he feel something or someone jump out on him behind him, he jolt in surprise, nearly feared, then turn back and seeing it's her, he burst in laughs.

Mylady, I must tell that you arrival is spectacular ! I expected to see you arriving from far but you have appear suddenly like a ghost !

Then he smile bow to her.

Goodnight, I am happy that you have join me.

As his eyes get used to darkness, he look at her with a admirative air.

Oh no, you just have surprise me ! I must tell I like it ! Indeed, I have also get some food, drinks, goblets, napkins, a tablecloth for can sat on it and place the food on it too rather than in the grass and also two covers so we will not get cold. I hope that I hadn't forget something.

He smile warmly to her.

You are forgiven, the essential is that you are here now and we can have this picnic together and I thank you for having propose it to me.

Anyway, I have spend a wonderful evening with you after celebrations and appreciate very much your compagny, so I am really happy to can have this picnic with you, it's very original idea.

Smiles at him then it is a good job it is dark therefore I can not see if you are blushing or not as the moon and a few candles are the only light as he touches my elbow shall we sit or we going to stand all night as I smile well your poems gave me the idea for this eve as I thought you might give you more ideas for your poems and I do wish I was talented like you. And I am also happy for your company I have not stop thinking about it since

He lean over his basket, open and take a big tableclothe in it, then spread it out on the grass, then knell on it and offer his hand to her for help her in her sat, while listening to her.

I am glad that my poems have give you inspiration for this moment to spend together.

Moved by her last words, he take a deep inspiration, looking in her eyes.

Me too ... you know since this evening we have spend together, you has been in my mind and I have wish to see you again and hoped to have this chance again ... and you have answer to my wishs, so thank you for this rendez-vous.

He smile softly to her.

He smile after she sit by her side, then grow serious in hearing her question and answer her with clearness and sincerity.

I am glad that you ask me the question rather than to listen to gossips ... I have fall in love with your sister when she have join english court as new lady in waiting, so I have become one of her suitors, but Anne hadn't show me more than friendship, all what she did allow me was holding her arm and kisses on her hands. As long as I can tell, she was like that with her other suitors, you know, she was a serious and virtuous girl who did think above all to make a good marriage and I was a married man at times, even if my wife had leave me ... and afterward, she have catch his majesty's eyes and he have chase away all her suitors. I have forget her fastly, get a divorce of my first wife, remarry with my second wife, who wasn't better than the first one in the end and divorce a second time ...

He shrugg.

You know all these gossips are started by her ennemies, many people hate her and her rising, even more his majesty's project to divorce and marry her, it's clear that they want to convince him that she have behave unvertuously in the past, that she isn't virgin, so he wouldn't love her anymore nor marry her, it's their aim and they are so influents that many people believe them, no matter if there isn't any witness for comfirm their accusations.

He feel emotion and happiness rising in him and he hear her words, his fingers touch her hand.

It's a shame ... I would like that very much.

He smile and ask her on a teasing tone.
